Our idea – an online biodiversity and sustainability festival, was the first of its kind. Our ‘Wild Glades’ festival helped inspire a younger generation to care for our fragile planet through a series of educational online sessions, allowing the centre to connect directly with the local community in a safe and engaging way during the Pandemic.
10 schools and more than 300 local school children participated, and in conjunction with Bromley Environmental Education Centre and as part of our exclusive ‘Rewilding’ webinar, we provided 66 primary schools with wildflower seeds to help with the rewilding of their school grounds.
The ‘Wild Glades’ festival was an integral part of The Glades’ submission for the BIG Biodiversity Challenge Award in 2021 – and was declared the overall winner.
